    That’s really lovely and so evocative of rural post war England when all we kids had to worry about were egg races or, in my case, fire station competitions. A breath of fresh air!

    I heard from Rayah that congratulations are in order re your PhD.

    My chemo ended at the end of January and we managed to get to France and CORSICA before the lock down but had to give Italy a miss.

    All my post cancer best laid plans re returning to Calais and other stuff are on hold so, like you, I’ve turned my mind to more creative matters and am self publishing my first book of poems very soon.
